Could someone please tell me what command I use to create files through PHP? I'm trying to get a message board set up on my site so it will feel more complete.

Edit Also, I would like someone to tell me how to store passwords, and how to make the computer recognize you as "this user".

php.net - search it before asking.

fopen and fclose are what i use.  but i dont generally use php for much except for simple temporary webfronts.

Toonski's right: this is a severe case of RTFM.  Shocked

About the computer "recognizing" users, learn about sessions:

BTW, that board is really necessary? I mean, usually just a tagboard can handle the task for small sites. And are -far- easier to code and mantain. Think about it.

Well, if Megaman makes a tagboard instead of using the first free tag service he could grab, he may learn a thing or two about PHP. C'mon... is not *that* difficult...

BTW, if you still have the idea of a forum, it's highly recommended to use a database to keep things fast and in order. Do you have access to MySQL, Postgre or whatever?
