I think it's a good idea to do both. The instant setup thing is awesome as it allows me to introduce people to freebasic in a streamlined manner while offline. No need for them to tinker with path settings(unless they really want to lol), they can just jump right in and start coding..

Is freebasic worth making the switch from qb 4.5 or should I just stick with what I know works?

Tnx guys, aetherfox: No one says you have to use FBIde or this package, it has nothing to do with official FB releases (unless v1ct0r decides otherwise) So there will be always seperate FBIde and FreeBasic, as before. fbc is a command-line compiler with more than one IDE on the works. I've found fbIDE too buggy for my tastes...I actually use ConTEXT or notepad or a VBScript editor I wrote a while back. I only use fbIDE from time to time to check stuff and when I'm testing code. Tell me about those bugs, I'm doing all I can to eliminate them.
