FJ's engine can technically scroll in any direction.  I limited it to Y and Forward scroll only.  But the actual playable, scrollable vertical dimension is more than twice the Yscreen dimension. ;*)

Something like that would be best represented in a free-movement environment, a la Fantasy Zone.

To Adosorken, Richard Eric M. Lope, Dark_prevail, Lachie, and Mango:

Now *those* are quite some good ideas and suggestions going here, a lot of you!  Cheesy !

And Adosorken, while I wouldn’t necessarily call my music subpar — as I have personally worked with digital computer music at home for over 8 years now — there is a lot of that more-than-I-even-realized room for me to improve and grow on it as well as for me to try out on different new sorts of genres within the music category.  INDEED.    And since this is an “Art and Music” section of QBasicNews.com, I must daresay right on the spot that you are _especially_ right on the following which was:

I hope you've practiced since then and have come up with some better stuff. If you need help with music, take a look at some of the offerings by Cha0s (one of our musicians at LSS) or Josiah Tobin (the original musician at LSS). I chose these two for LSS because their skills are virtually unmatched in the Qmunity in terms of music production, as well as other skills (Josiah's pixelart, for example, is awesome). Not only that...but try expanding your horizons and listening to a wide variety of musics from all genres, even stuff you may not like. Inspiration can come from anywhere. Cheesy

You know something man, to share forward with you on this, one of my definite favorite genres of music has GOTTA to be some classical-based orchestrated music, in addition to a whole lot of house/dance music as well as some “high-fantasy”-based new age ones also, also.  Smiley !  As well, even for any one or more original tracks that I create during the new track design, I can combine two or more different music genres to create some sort of much more fresh and original track (if not even a WHOLE new genre altogether!  Shocked ).  Sure it all takes practice to master, but hey, it can be successfully done!  ^_^ !

As for me between Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, I am *quite* happy with Paint Shop Pro.  Period.  ;*) !  Anyway now, a big “THANK YOU” to you for your really fine suggestions, man (including for your idea about the “free-movement environment”, in which I *might* use some of that during later developents of the game we are all talking about on this thread here)!!  Cheesy !!

Dark_prevail, that is some AWESOME advice from Relsoft that I believe you should really take into consideration, as I will be working out ways to fit boss numeral uno on the “Frantic Journey” (FJ) scrollable playing area, without me having to shrink it down to size just to cram that thing in there, you know?  Now do you understand?  Cheesy

And Lachie, about the game FJ itself, well, since the game was originally designed to have *more* than hundred enemies and/or shots on the screen at one time, and also since I am planning to make this game in a sort of a “horizontal DoDonPachi”-based sense, I am sorry to say that I will not be toning down the amount of explosions and enemies very much, because then, I would be compromising the overall intensity of FJ itself.  However, later in the development of FJ, I will be working on getting in the ability to select from at least three courses, which are:
Beginner Course
Standard Course
Master Course[/list]
Also, the enemies, shots and levels will all vary in number upon the course you have chosen, so do not worry, man, as I will work out something, so just hold on now!  Wink

Once again, I thank you all for your fine time well spent.  Later!  :bounce: !

why don't you tell us AFTER something is done being developed? If everyone in here posteda new thread ever time something in their game was in the dev. stage, we'd have a billion threads about games thatwere never even finished! So just get to work and dont post back in the forums until your done.
