Is it possible to change your member status (e.g. Forum Regular, Guru)?
If so, how many posts are needed to do this?

Hmmm, as far as I remember 0-50 new member, 50-100 member, 100-150 senior member, 150-200 guru, and then people begin to get custom names Tongue

It's based on the number of posts you have.

0-20 = New member
20-50 = Member
50-100 Forum Regular

It goes on and on to senior member, Guru, wandering guru, and some others, all the way up to Na_th_an's title.

Special ranks can be assigned.

You can't change your status yourself, but they are just for fun. Only a few don't have the standard set, a few asked to be changed and a few didn't(Jocke and Techo ;-) )

If you really want a custom rank, pm the name to me and if I have no problem with it I may assign it to you.

Uuuuuh... that's a long way... very, very long.

Let's see:

Na_th_an: Total posts:  1739, that's 34.57% of total / 4.51 posts per day. The vast majority of these without spamming. Beat that.

Is there a table anywhere on this site that ranks all the users?

New Member 0
Member 20
Forum Regular 50
Senior Member 100
Guru 200
Wandering Guru 300
Ancient QBer 400

The rest are subject to change, as the original system didn't allow for the na_th_an to come ;-)

warning: lists like these (as well as ranks) tend to generate LOTs and LOTs of evil, dirty spam.

Thanks Hex, I did a man's search (e.g. didn't look very far, in a hurry, couldn't be bothered etc   ). I'm also on a 56k which for some reason seems to be very slow on this site in particular. Maybe it's because I'm running windows... Sad  I also have a linux partition but 1) I can't get in there at the moment and 2) linux doesn't run QBasic.

I HATE    windows! (except for games, which is why I have a partition)
I LOVE linux!  Cheesy (its all free!!!)

QB runs fine under DOSEMU under L!NUX. Make a search for it, download it, install it, and ENJOY Cheesy

I'll do just that, when my partitions are fixed. I installed linux first, and then big bully microsoft came along and overwrote my mbr, and only then I discover that my linux boot floppy is trashed!!! I HATE windows!
