Yes, I have had some bad experiences with mainstream publishers. I was a coauthor on a VB book, back when VB 5.0 frst came out. It was a VB Tips and Tricks book for Sam's publishing. I had written about 500 pages when they suddenly dropped the project, and decided they didn't want to publish. I got nothing, and wasted 6 months. It put me off of the main stream publishers.
