RoboRaider: 3D Test...

Here is a color model of the robot Scorpian from RoboRaider to test my motion engine in 3D (Previous 2D version on FBTK). It uses OpenGL:

Controls:
Foward.. (Q+O)
Left Track = Q
Right Track = O

BackWard.. (A+L)
Left Track = A
Right Track = L

Combine for different motion effects: e.i. Left-Right, 0deg turns, Quick Left-Right (Q+O>Q+A or Q+O>O+L (Foward)) :wink:

Note: It shouldn't go to fast, if you ever seen a R/C car zip around, that's what its suppose to look like.. Mind I mean hobby grade R/Cs..  :wink:

most of the time the controls seemed to work well, but it wouldn't go backwards sometimes with a or l or a+l...

It's kinda choppy here though... Are you still using the same method to render your models?

It is also choppy for me - try adding display lists to see if it speeds up.

Ah the benefit of having an OpenGL book at hand.

It even performs way better than VBO's in newer cards.

A display list is that simple? cool..

@ Dr_D: Yeah,. except I have it in a sub,.... and its zfar as 1000 so the robot has more room to play..  :lol: .. could that be your problem?, I think I remember you saying that to another coder about cutting distance....  :roll:  :wink:

@ dumbledore: It works when you press (A+L), then for left let off A, or right let off L... I would make it like how you operate foward, but for some reason it disables 0-Deg Turning...    :wink:
