Regarding Legend of Aquarius...

I emailed you regarding problems with the ScriptDirector. I can pose an example here for you. But first I need you to let me know how the contents file is formatted. Right now, I have bypassed this and I'm playing with test scripts. The format for the scriptdirector sub is as follows:

Code:

' ====================================================
'         NAME: ScriptDirector()
'   PARAMETERS: FileName  AS STRING
'      ASSUMES: Filename is a valid path and filename
'      RETURNS: No value
'  CALLED FROM: Typically at the start of a game.
' ----------------------------------------------------
'  DESCRIPTION:
' ====================================================

I assume this goes as follows:

Code:

scriptdirector "c:\loa\test.dat",1,3

Am I wrong? This is assuming the test script is:

Code:

@say "Alex", "Hi, my name is Alex."
@ask "What is your name?", playername
@say "Hello, ", playername

?

In this case you can do it 2 ways.

either

ScriptDirector "C:\loa\script.txt", 1, 3 like you did

or

ScriptDirector "C:\loa\script.txt"   the last 2 parameters are optional
and if they aren't specified they would be defaulted to -1 each telling the engine to read the whole file.

The parameters 1,3 don't do anything other than continuously display the number 1 on a new line, scrollnig down the window.

If ommitted altogether, I get the equivelant of a "missing parameter error" (Error 9, expected expression)

Hey jump on MSN.
