Title: hooray for internships!
Post by: Mech1031 on April 29, 2005, 10:26:39 PM
I shadowed a commercial artist today, he was the head guy thingy for the advertising portion of "bernie's"  a department store chain in new england.  he makes all the ad's and billboards, he was cool.  so halfway through, he took me to meet some people he knows at an art studio in the urban part of town.  when we get there, i find out that it's the same studio that produces box art for lego, hasbro, parker bro, TIME Magazine, Newsweek, etc.  I was pretty impressed, especially that film is no longer used in professional photography, instead, it's uploaded from a 15,000$ chip directly into a mac and edited from there.  i was pretty amazed by the whole thing.  and apparently me showing intrest truly payed off.  this summer, i have been offered an internship with them.  the details are a bit hazy, but i truly am excited.

....and i got a stuffed sheep!

now the question for me still remains, is anybody hear into photography to a point where they would mind sharing their experiences and what the job involves?

Congrats on the offer! :)
As for photography, my stepdad was heavily into it, but he's not living with us anymore and I haven't seen him in awhile, so at the moment I can't really help you there...
